Slane History and Archaeology Society are starting their series of Spring Talks and are pleased to welcome Ashling Heffernan, Manager of the Battle of the Boyne Centre Oldbridge who will give a talk entitled "The Kings Gift -Mementoes from King William III", which should be of great interest to those who live locally and those interested in the Battle of the Boyne and its aftermath.
The talk will take place on Thursday 16th February at 8pm in the Slane Youth Club building on Chapel St., Slane. all welcome and parking available- do hope you can make it.

Slane History and Archaeology Society are hosting a talk by well known sailor and conservationist Pat Murphy who will relate the story of the most famous yacht in Irish history- the Asgard.
Pat will tell the Asgards story from her launch in 1905 to her conservation in Collins Barracks Museum, including her voyage to carry guns and ammunition to the Irish Volunteers.
This promises to be an interesting evening so hope you can attend.
The talk will take place in the old Schoolhouse, Chapel St., Slane at 8pm on Thursday 10th November.

Slane History and Archaeology Society are hosting a very special event to commemorate the execution of 16 men after the 1916 Rising.
We will be remembering each man's life story separately, how he became involved in the Rising and his subsequent part in events that followed.
The venue is the old Schoolhouse, Chapel St., Slane on Thursday 6th October at 8pm.
